In this presentation Dr. Meloro will discuss the vascular surgeon’s role in optimal referral, preoperative assessment, as well as operative planning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of hemodialysis access.

  2. Determine the appropriate time of referral of CKD patients to a vascular access surgeon.
  3. Implement appropriate preoperative evaluation and planning to create durable hemodialysis access.
