Left Atrial Appendage Closure (WATCHMAN) – Online

Daniel Ice, MD, Interventional Cardiologist at Deborah Heart and Lung Center will provide an overview of Left Atrial Appendage Occlusion (LAAO) with a focus on LAAO device advancements and remaining challenges.

1. List the elements of the CHADS-VASC score and understand when it is used.
2. Determine the appropriate indications for percutaneous left atrial appendage occlusion.
3. Identify what improvements have been made in LAAO device design to improve outcomes.
4. Summarize what current unanswered questions still remain with LAAO.
