Frank R. Arko III, MD is Professor of Vascular Surgery at Wake Forest University School of Medicine and serves as Chief of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery, Silverling Endowed Chair of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery, and Co-Director of the Aortic Center at Atrium Health’s Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. Dr. Arko earned his medical degree from Texas A&M University Health Science Center, followed by a residency in general surgery at Scott & White Hospital and advanced fellowships in vascular and endovascular surgery at Stanford University Hospital.

Dr. Arko is internationally recognized for his expertise in the treatment of complex aortic disease and endovascular innovation. He has authored over 150 peer-reviewed publications and multiple book chapters on abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, thoracic and abdominal endovascular interventions, and acute aortic syndromes. As an active contributor to clinical research and device development, Dr. Arko continues to advance minimally invasive techniques that improve outcomes for patients with aortic pathology.
